Schlachtensee Central (Schlachtensee / Zehlendorf)

This is our circle in the southwest of Berlin, where Philipp, who also looks after our social media and cooperations, guides a calm Sunday dip among the Grunewald pines, followed by tea and conversation on the shore.

Meeting point

We meet on the central shore of Schlachtensee, which is not the end towards Krumme Lanke. Philipp usually brings his camera, so if you would rather not be in the photos, just tell him before the dip.

BVG

From S-Bahn Schlachtensee on the S1 you walk around the lake, while the walk from U-Bahn Krumme Lanke on the U3 takes longer. Coming from Mitte, you should plan 45 to 60 minutes to get to the southwest of Berlin.

Shore

Schlachtensee is a popular summer lake with much clearer water than the Spree. The Grunewald shore is sensitive, so please use the existing access points. We used to meet at Krumme Lanke as well, so if the exact spot ever moves, you will find it in our Telegram group.

Legal

Schlachtensee has official bathing sites in summer, but dipping outside the marked zones in winter is still at your own risk. Please keep out of any fenced or signposted nature protection areas.

Winter water

Schlachtensee is a large forest lake that holds the cold evenly, and on still January mornings the edges can freeze while the middle stays open. We never go under the ice and never walk on it.

Season 26/27

Philipp has been hosting the dips in the southwest of Berlin at Schlachtensee and Krumme Lanke since 2021. This season starts here on Sunday 8 November 2026 at 10:00 and continues every Sunday until March 2027.
